Make Shopping For Your Friends And Family Easy
It may not be the first thing that crosses your mind when you think of gift giving but an edible gift might be just the thing you need to cross the “hard to shop for” recipient off of your list. When you see the joy it brings them you will find that more and more of your gifts are edible.
There are many things to consider when choosing an edible gift for someone. The most important thing to consider is if they are allergic to any types of foods or if anyone in the house is. The safest thing to do if you are not sure is to avoid anything with peanut products, as to eliminate the possibility of a bad allergic reaction. Reason for the gift, different events in life may require a different style of basket or different foods in the basket. Someone who has just had surgery may need softer foods in their basket so that it will not upset their stomachs. And last but not least how much you want to spend. Edible gifts come in different price points and different sizes.
Your significant other will appreciate a simple but romantic gift like candy or chocolates, but the presentation is so much better if you add a favorite bottle of wine with a ribbon around the neck and then finish it off with a flourish and a single red rose.
If you are looking to satisfy a bibliophile, then along with a gift basket containing an assortment of wine and cheese, a few wine glasses, a corkscrew and a bottle opener, add the latest edition by his favorite novelist or a collection of essays by an assortment of writers.
You don’t even have to be a great cook to make edible gifts. They will appreciate the time and effort you put into it. A great idea is to put dry ingredients into a decorated mason jar. That way someone else gets to do the cooking. Many different things can be presented in a jar mix, including holiday cookies, bean soups, and breads. You personalize it by decorating with ribbons and festive wrapping paper to make a beautiful presentation.
If time is your, enemy due to a hectic work schedule or busy holiday season, choose a gift that can be purchased. One way to say you care throughout the year is to buy a gift like a “fruit of the month” club. Your friend or relative will receive beautifully wrapped and fabulously fresh fruit for three, six, nine, or twelve months of the year. They will continue to enjoy your gift for many months, and will likely think of you each time they receive a shipment.
No matter what you decided or what edible gift you go with, you are sure to see that the person you are buying for will be pleased. This will be a memorable gift and one that is talked about for years to come.
